SebastiAn’s Total has some glitchy sounds but is straight up house jams. Some songs sound like he went back in time and collaborated with some of the greats of the 80′s while others are clearly moderns club bangers. Love in Motion comes in mind for the former, and sounds a LOT like Prince could have be a cowriter; and CTFO fits the later, featuring MIA and a glitchy distorted electro sound. All the songs got me grooving while writing this, and if that sounds like your type of album then you don’t have to read anymore of this post (but it’s encouraged).
This album also has a ton of interludes; tracks under a minute long with fully developed beats. While It can be a bit annoying to start getting into a song just as it ends, especially on multiple listens of the album, I can easily imagine DJs out there lusting over them, because while they’re short, they damn good.
While the album could get just about anyone moving and grooving, I can’t think of many others who could do it as dramatically as the kid in the above video for Embody. If you dig that jam, check out the other songs mentioned in this post, my SOTW last Friday (Jack Wire), and the whole album here.
