The first time I saw Lyrics Born perform was about six years ago when he performed with the rest of the Quannum Crew – a Bay-Area collective featuring DJ Shadow and Blackalicious among others. In a show with so much talent Lyrics Born still stood out for me. The Toyko-born MC not only brought his unique voice blended with some real funk but he also had incredibly positive and different subjects than I was hearing from most MCs.
Six years later I’m still a fan as long as he keeps releasing tracks like this new joint, Something Better. Download link after the cut.
